- Original certificate of change of residence (“Baja Consular”) issued by the Spanish Consulate at origin
- Spanish resident card / work permit
- Original Bill of Lading (OBL) / Air Waybill (AWB) – Provided by A1 Relocations
- “Alta de Empadronamiento” from local authorities of residence
- Application form for duty-free importation
- Diplomatic Franchise (for diplomats)
- Proof of residency in the country of departure for at least 12 consecutive months (employment letter, rental bills, public administration registration)
ℹ️ Important Customs Information
- Household goods are duty-free if:
- Owned and used by the owner for minimum 6 months
- Imported within 12 months of arrival in Spain
The owner has lived abroad for at least 1 year
- If a Spanish residence permit is not yet available, a Bank Guarantee (40–60% of total declared value) and presentation of the Work Permit is required; the guarantee is returned once the permit is obtained within 6 months.
- The owner must be registered at the National Tax Office / Revenue Service; if not, an employer or another registered person can represent them for customs clearance.
- Diplomatic shipments require a Diplomatic Franchise from the Foreign Affairs Ministry, which takes approximately 2–3 weeks.
